Frans Zwartjes Foundation
The Frans Zwartjes Foundation has been established to promote and manage the creations of the Dutch experimental artist Frans Zwartjes. Frans Zwartjes was known as an experimental film-maker, photographer, graphic artist, painter, visual artist and musician. The main goal of the Foundation is to manage the oeuvre of Frans Zwartjes, and to share his work with a broader audience.
In The Netherlands, the Foundation collaborates with the Eye Filmmuseum in Amsterdam and the Kunstmuseum in The Hague. In France, the Foundation collaborates with Cinédoc Paris Films Coop.

Trix Zwartjes
Member of the Frans Zwartjes Foundation
Trix Zwartjes (1935) studied textile at the Academie voor Industriële Vormgeving, Eindhoven (Design Academy). There she learned the design art and met her future husband, Frans Zwartjes. Trix taught textile processing, drawing and painting throughout her life. She did this for many years at the Vrije Academie in The Hague. She still teaches drawing and painting on a weekly basis upon request. She has been an actress in a lot of Frans Zwartjes’ films and known as his muze. She is well known for her inspiration, cooperation and contribution to the most of Zwartjes work. She has two children with Zwartjes and is still living in The Hague.
Reyke Zwartjes
Chairwoman of the Frans Zwartjes Foundation
Reyke Zwartjes (1962) is the daughter of Frans and Trix Zwartjes and was active in the International Business area in all sorts of management jobs. Later she studied Kunstzinnige Therapie in Leiden and became a personal coach on an individual basis and in companies. She is married, has two children and lives in Noordeloos.

Jasper Zwartjes

Jasper Zwartjes (1965) is the son of Frans and Trix Zwartjes. He studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. He is a photographer and filmmaker. He is married, has three children and lives in Amsterdam.

Brent Lucas
Member of the Frans Zwartjes Foundation
Brent Lucas (1958) studied law for a few years in Leiden. After that he started working in the pharmaceutical environment for over 28 years. For many years he was responsible for organizing over 500 meetings and congresses per year in the Diabetes world. He is married to Reyke Zwartjes and has two children.
Olivier Lucas
Member of the Frans Zwartjes Foundation
Olivier Lucas (1997) is the grandson of Zwartjes. He studied drums at the Amsterdam Conservatorium Pop Department. Performing, playing, composing and teaching drums. His grandfather stimulated him with all kinds of art. He lives in The Hague.
